THE INITIATIVE
On 9 March 1997, the late Cardinal Thomas Joseph Winning launched a major practical initiative to help women facing a crisis pregnancy. We recently celebrated our tenth birthday, and in those ten years we have assisted countless women and their families, practically, financially, emotionally and spiritually.
CRISIS PREGNANCY?
When faced with a crisis pregnancy, it is easy to feel overwhelmed. A feeling of panic can often be a first reaction. How will I cope? I have no one to turn to support. In this situation, many women quickly decide to opt for abortion.
We know this from our experience of speaking with women. Many did not take time to examine the options. Many regret not taking that time.
There is another way…you do have a choice.
You can choose to have your baby and we will help you.
Any woman, from any ethnic origin, any religion or none, faced with a crisis pregnancy is welcome to contact the Pro-Life Initiative for help.

Today, I sought help for young girl I am working with. I picked up the phone and called the Cardinal Winning ProLife Initiative, having been running around, desperately trying to gather things together and help this young lady in need. I spoke with Sister Roseanne and she filled my heart with joy as her help was outpouring and so, so appropriate and caring for this young girl who needed support.
I knew as soon as I spoke with Sister Roseanne that everything would be a lot better for my student who has been through such trauma. It was such a relief!
God bless this wonderful work that you do – I felt truly humbled today by the generosity of spirit which I encountered. I hope and pray that many more girls are blessed by your support!!
I was 15yrs old when I fell pregnant with my oldest son. Sister Roseanne was amazing and they helped my family and myself through a very difficult time. My son is now 11yrs old and I know that without prolifes help things could have been so different for us both.

I am working as a full time volunteer in life ministry among young women of disvantaged social and economic situations and am setting. Up aducation progRamme tomeet needs.I am relying on donations of books and dvds etc but the geatest need is for a model kit shoiwing pre born development.to this end I discovered that spuc sell tthese and priests for lIfe sell other good qualiity resources.a sum of a hundred pounds would coveR everything plese would you consideR such a donation? A few other things are neede also such as a tablet or netbook to enable the girls and women to access life information resources and help on the spot and provide online communication with life spUc etc immediately it is required. And donations of cash or kind to support these needs for life minisTry would be welcome even a secoNd hhand tablet or netbook or laptop.I hope you will consider such a request.I am a contemplative for life hermit and so am self supporting in providing for. I am overwhelmed and so appreciative of the help I have received from the Cardinal Winning project, without the love, help and support from Roseanne and Andrea myself and my son would not be in the position we are now.
When I was worried and scared and didn’t know what to do they helped me and made me feel safe and secure and assured me everything would be ok. My son is 2 now and he could not be any more loved, he is a bright and fun young boy and is a complete joy to have. I am so glad I made the decision to keep him and was given the help and support to do so.

Have good condition second hand kids clothes,toys and soft toys also got good condition mamas and papas pram and second hand women clothes n shoes just clearing out house ie de cluttering and looking for good place to give which would be of most benefit to the less fortunate. We accept any good working order baby equipment and childrens clothes mainly. The other items we are not so in need of, but if you can’t find anywhere else to give them we do accept them.
We are a charity which is part of the Archdiocese of Glasgow and we help women, families and children who need practical help. Some of these women are considering an abortion and others are pregnant with existing children who are in need of pracitcal help which makes life alittle easier for them ane their families. Due to the current finacial situation we almost always have a shortage of baby equipment. We help alot of women through projects who contact us regularly and they request various items which we try and give them. However if we don’t have one or more of these items then they go on a long waiting list until we can provide the items. If you would like to donate the items you specified then please contact us and arrange a day that is mutually suitable as sometimes we have issues with storage in the Initiative hall.

I am pregnant and this is goin to be my third child. Im 27 years old from South Africa. I dnt want this baby at all, im nt ready to go through that process again, i have been trying to kill it since day 1 but it doesnt want to go away. Im christian in a black community where if you have 3 or more you become a laughing stock from women to men. That is painfull if you ask me. I think im gonna die from heartache n stress pls help me
