St John Paul II

22Oct15

A native of Wadowice, Poland, Karol Wojtyla became Pope John Paul II in 1978.  Among his many accomplishments as pope, he made 104 apostolic journeys outside Italy and promulgated a new catechism.  He inaugurated World Youth Day and the World Meeting of Families.  John Paul II died on 2 April 2005.

It is Jesus that you seek when you dream of happiness” he told young people in the year 2000. “He is waiting for you when nothing else you find satisfies you; he is the beauty to which you are so attracted..it is he who reads in your hearts your most genuine choices, the choices that others try to stifle”
