One Handed Pianist Defies Expectation

30Aug12

Every now and then we come across a story which demonstrates so clearly to the world that disability is no limit to what can be achieved.  It is, of course very apt now that the Paralympics have just started.

It was The Telegraph One-handed-pianist-Nicholas-McCarthy-graduates-from-Royal-College-of-Music.html this story of Nicholas McCarthy,23, born with one hand and over came low expectations from various people who didn’t believe that he could go further in his love of the piano.  Now he has become the first, one-handed pianist to complete his studies and graduate from The Royal College of Music!

We must contrast this with many pro-abortion groups battle cry who defend the right to abort unborn babies who have (or who are suspected of having) a disability stating that they would have a poor quality of life and make the parents life a misery.  It is hard to look at this disabled man and think he could have been aborted for the simple fact he possesses one arm instead of two.  It would be fantastic if we could learn to see the potential of every human being, born and unborn instead of judging who warrants life according to their physical or mental abilities.  Watch and be inspired. script>
